United States invests in emerging Chinese technologies “turns into military power”: founder of Atlas Organization
The Taiwanese foreign minister warned that “we must prepare” for a possible military conflict with China, which has invested in armaments. In an interview with FOX Business’s “Mornings with Maria”, Atlas Organization founder Jonathan Ward warned the United States against further investment in emerging Chinese technologies as the country continues to make gains economic.

JONATHAN WARD: It’s all about deterrence. I think they haven’t reached the capacity they need yet, and we have to make sure that we evolve our capacities so that it is a very dangerous choice for them. As long as we can maintain this, I think you can maintain the balance in favor of Taiwan and the United States. It will also be important to integrate regional allies like Japan into a defensive strategy in the Pacific. And for now, we canâ¦ maintain that balance. But it turns against us, and it turns against us as China catches up with its GDP. They represent 70% of US GDP now. They are investing all of this in weapons designed for this conflict.

Moreover, since they are somewhat nationalist at this point, the party–strong nationalism is really focused on military opportunities in the region. It’s a very dangerous balance, and we have to make sure they stop winning over us economically. It also means that this is why it is important that we stop investing in China’s strategic industries and emerging technologies. It all turns into military might and helps maintain that balance.
