Sudan Unionist Alliance publishes open letter condemning military takeover in Sudan | Your money

FAIRFAX, Virginia, October 25, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The following is an open letter from the Sudan Unionist Alliance.

The Unionist Alliance, a founding member of the Sudanese civilian government led by Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, unequivocally condemns the military takeover that has taken place in Sudan today. The president of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who has chosen to carry out a coup against his own partners in the transitional government, is responsible for the crisis into which he has plunged his country.

The Unionist Alliance is firmly committed to the civilian-led democratic transition in Sudan and believes that the will of the free and courageous people of the country will surely prevail in the end.

Let us unite and call on the partners of Sudan, led by the United States and the free peoples of the world, to condemn the coup and to support the government of Prime Minister Hamdok in its heroic efforts to bring the country to a civil regime.
