Shemia Fagan Elected to NASS Board of Directors

Sunday was the 2022 National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Summer Conference. During this meeting, Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan was selected to serve as Vice President of the Western Region on the NASS Board of Directors. Additionally, she was elected Treasurer of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State.

One of our nation’s oldest nonpartisan professional associations, NASS acts as a vehicle for public servants to collaborate and share information between Secretaries of State and Lieutenant Governors. They meet annually to discuss elections, voting, state archives, and state business services.

“When it comes to this nation’s fight for democracy, I’m all for it,” Fagan said in a Press release. “Oregon’s elections are the nation’s gold standard. I’m excited to take a leadership role with NASS to share Oregon’s two decades of mail-in voting experience and bring our neighbors’ best ideas back to Oregon.

This November will be the first time the Oregon Division of Elections will have access to the funds needed to “prebunk” false voting information. Fagan directs the #TrustedInfo2022 campaign to ensure voters have access to the most accurate information possible.

They will provide many videos and documents in different languages to break down election security and the new postmark lawamong other topics.

Secretary Fagan also serves on the board of directors of the Association of Democratic Lieutenant Governors.
