Interfaith organization hosting thousands of online spiritual activists


In 15 days, the world’s oldest and most inclusive interfaith organization is bringing together thousands of local organizers and religious leaders for the 2021 Parliament of the World’s Religions.

October 16 at 7 p.m. ET, 2021 Parliament of the World’s Religions launches its 8th global meeting of interfaith activists, religious leaders, academics and practitioners from all faiths around the world to address the theme: “Opening Our Hearts to the World: Compassion in Action. “

The 2021 Parliament is unique in the long history of these Convocations, with its first Convocation held in Chicago in 1893. The 2021 Parliament will be the first to be hosted online, with 48 hours of live programming from around the world and made available exclusively. for registered for 30 days after. The convocation provides a unique opportunity for people of all faiths dedicated to peace, justice and sustainability to connect through interfaith dialogue and cooperation.

Offering over 575 programs during the 48 hours live and over 100 luminaries of diverse faith and spirituality, Parliament 2021 offers participants a unique and sure opportunity to explore notions of grief, hope and inspiration, for compassion in action, for justice, for climate change, for women’s dignity and human rights, and more. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, United Nations Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall, Nobel Laureate Shirin Ebadi, His Eminence Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, Chief Rabbi David Rosen, Reverend James Lawson, Dharma Master Cheng Yen, Chief Oren Lyons, Reverend William J. Barber II, and His Eminence Muḥammad ˁAbdur-Raḥmān Muḥammad Aḍ-ḌuwÄ«nÄ« are just a few of the inspiring luminaries featured.

Parliamentary Program Chair Reverend Phyllis Curott highlights the diversity and richness of the programming: “In this time of growing global challenges, the religions of the world come together to share our sorrow, our hope and our actions that express the profound compassion that Suffering.
