Equity Alliance Adds Percy ‘Master P’ Miller to Board of Directors | Davidson County

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – The Equity Alliance made a big announcement on Friday. Percy “Master P” Miller will join the Equity Alliance and become a member of its board of directors.

The Equity Alliance, which is a local, state-wide organization, has announced that it is appointing Miller to its board of directors. Miller is the founder and CEO of No Limit Entertainment. He is also a Grammy Award-winning hip-hop mogul and investor.

Tequila Johnson, co-founder and executive director of the Equity Alliance, said it was huge. Johnson said they were extremely happy to have his advice and leadership on the board.

She knows this will not only help the Equity Alliance, but really help Nashvillians and the state, especially when it comes to helping businesses of color thrive.

“When you look around the city of Nashville, there are new restaurants, new businesses, new homes popping up,” Johnson said. “When you look at the numbers, those numbers are reflected in the African American community. Homeownership among blacks has not increased, it has actually declined over the past 10 years in Nashville.

“To have someone like Master P, with their level of knowledge and understanding of what economic advancement means, their history, their history, what they have been able to do in their personal life and you have the political power and The economic and educational power of the Equity Alliance. Being able to merge these two means that there will be a lot more opportunities and a lot more information available to city dwellers.

Johnson said their work will grow and they will continue to do great things, now on a much larger scale, with Master P by their side. She also said it couldn’t have come at a better time. There are so many business owners still struggling during the pandemic. She said Miller’s advice and assistance would really help people across town and state.
