Borderplex Alliance wins Economic Development Organization of the Year award

Washington, DC – The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has presented The Borderplex Alliance with the Economic Development Organization of the Year award.

On Tuesday, the honor was presented to more than 1,000 attendees at an awards ceremony at the IEDC’s annual conference, currently underway in Nashville.

“The recipients of the IEDC Economic Development Excellence Awards represent the best in economic development and exemplify the leadership for which our profession strives every day,” said Tom Kucharski, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IEDC 2021 and Invest Buffalo Niagara, President and CEO.

The IEDC selected the Borderplex Alliance from over 5,000 members in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The IEDC Economic Development Excellence Awards recognize the best economic development programs in the world. The awards are judged by a diverse panel of business and community developers, following a nomination process held earlier this year.

“This award is a testament to the hard work of our staff and the unwavering commitment of our Executive Committee, Board of Directors and investors to our region. I am grateful to each of them. This is further confirmation that our organization and our region are world class and consolidate The Borderplex Alliance as the organization of choice for economic development, job creation and policy advocacy, ”said Jon Barela, CEO by The Borderplex Alliance.
